The sun is shinning, the weather is wonderful and it’s time to forget about winter!

Spring is a season I really love – you can enjoy a drink at one of the outside tables of a café, walk with your sunglasses, lie on the grass and read a book.

Today, I’m going to show you what kind of makeup and beauty products I love the most at the moment. Summer is far away, so I’m not into bright colors yet (I keep them for later).

I usually don’t use lip glosses because they tend to stick and you have to apply them on your lips 10th times a day cause they don’t last. This blueberry flavored gloss is great because it smells good and I only have to use it twice a day to make it last (once in the morning and once after lunch). And my lips are hydrated, which is a must for me!

The new Lancôme collection is stunning, I love both the lipsticks and nail polishes. My favorite color is a pink called “Rose Pitimini”. It’s not too bright, which makes it elegant and easy to wear when I go to work.

These Chanel eyeshadows are sparkling and incredibly beautiful. I have two of them: Fantasme is white, like diamonds, and Mirifique is black. I love everything you can do when you use them separately or together, with mascara and eyeliner.

Démesure (Givenchy)

I’ve been using Givenchy’s Phenomen’Eyes since 2009 and I was curious to try their new mascara. At first, it’s strange: you have to use the big, thick part to apply the mascara and then the tiny brush to separate the lashes. It takes time but the result is gorgeous: I didn’t even know I had so many lashes! The only thing I don’t really like is the tiny brush that is sometimes too small to separate the lashes, so I tend to apply the mascara with Démesure and then separate the lashes with Phenomen’Eyes.

I already had two Urban Decay palettes (Book of Shadows IV and 15th anniversary). I didn’t want to buy the Naked 1 when it was released because I didn’t like the colors, but I loved the ones they picked for the 2nd Naked palette. It’s really easy to use, and for once the brushes they included are great (it’s often the problem with palettes: the brushes they give you aren’t good, so you have to use the ones you already have). I don’t really have a favorite look: it depends on my mood, sometimes I use sparkling, brown eyeshadows and sometimes I go for a nude look.

I love these nail polishes: it’s easy to buy them with 50% off, the colors are beautiful and you can keep them for 7 days (with a base and top coat) without any problem. My current favorite is Canal St Martin (gray/blue/green). I wore it for my granny’s birthday and everybody wanted to know where I had bought it.

Body Butter (The Body Shop)

I use this body butter daily before I go to sleep. Now that summer is coming, I need it to moisturize my skin and have beautiful legs I absolutely love the smell, it helps me relax before I go to sleep. I remember the first time I got a free sample, I thought the smell was too strong and I would never use it. Now, I love it and I also have the shower gel and body scrub that I love to use!

I like Epica, but I’ve never been a HUGE fan like I am for other bands – collecting every album, single, EP, bootleg, remix, DVD… I like them, mostly because of Simone. She has a beautiful voice and she really looks stunning. She’s also a very nice girl (I visit her blog daily because I love her style and make-up).

My favourite album was Consign to Oblivion (released in 2005), for songs like Another Me, Quietus and Solitary Ground. I also love songs from other albums, like The Phantom Agony, Cry for the Moon, Sancta Terra… But when the band released Design Your Universe in 2009, I was disappointed. Thing is, I enjoy symphonic metal (some of my favourite bands are Within Temptation and Nightwish), but I hate grunts. Even when the music is powerful, I like melodies, emotions, and that’s something (in my opinion) that is hard to balance with guys grunting like animals. Anyway, I listened to Design Your Universe once or twice, then removed the album from my iPhone and never really listened to it anymore.

(And that was the biggest mistake ever. Because last week I decided to give it a try and fell in love with Unleashed, Tides of Time and Design Your Universe. But that’s not the point of this post.)

So when I heard that Epica was to release a new album in March, I was curious, but not excited. And the first single, Storm the Sorrow, was actually a lovely surprise. People might say it’s not really sounding like Epica, it’s kinda “softer” but guys, there are grunts that I can actually stand. So I listened to the whole album, Requiem for the Indifferent, on Spotify and… bought it immediately.

For me, this album is the best the band has released so far. Simone’s voice is under control (sometimes, on the previous albums, she was trying too much and, although her voice is WONDERFUL, it sounded like it was difficult for her to reach such high notes). I love the fact the songs are very different from one another, and some songs have several parts so the mood is very changeable.

I can’t really decide which songs are my favourite, I uploaded Storm the Sorrow for you to listen because it’s the easiest song to listen to when you’re not used to this kind of music.

The first 7 songs of the album are perfect (including the powerful Monopoly on Truth and the emotional instrumental song Anima). I also love Avalanche and its different “pieces” (emotional, powerful, lyrical) that make it look like a roller-coaster. So yes, I’m hooked. The album even made me want to listen to my old Epica albums again and again!

I am SHERlocked

I think Sherlock is my favourite TV show right now. I can’t even begin to describe how everything about this show is pure perfection: the actors, the writers (Moffat and Gatiss ruined my life), the characters, the plot, the music, the fandom (I swear this fandom is gonna be the death of me). It’s a clever, brilliant show that has this touch of British humour that I enjoy so much.

There are 6 episodes so far (7 if you count the unaired pilot), but the quality is unbelievable, and it’s like watching action movies with a real, clever plot.

My favourite episode is called A Scandal in Belgravia. It begins with very funny scenes, like the one in Buckingham Palace, when Sherlock (fantastic Benedict Cumberbatch) refuses to put his clothes on just because he’s an arrogant sod. Martin Freeman’s face is absolutely priceless (Watson is always funny when he’s like “wtf?”). Then we meet Irene (Lara Pulver, such a beautiful and talented actress) and it’s a “power play”, a seduction game, Sherlock and the Woman.

The end of the episode is perfection, I wasn’t expecting this at all, and what I loved the most was the music. I’ve been waiting for the soundtrack to be released for weeks, and I finally bought it on iTunes yesterday. So here it is!

Because I took your pulse… Elevated. Your pupils dilated. I imagine John Watson thinks love’s a mystery to me, but the chemistry is incredibly simple and very destructive. When we first met, you told me that a disguise is always a self portrait, how true of you, the combination to your safe – your measurements. But this, this is far more intimate. This is your heart, and you should never let it rule your head. You could have chosen any random number and walked out of here today with everything you worked for. But you just couldn’t resist it, could you? I’ve always assumed that love is a dangerous disadvantage. Thank you for the final proof.

Everything I said, it’s not real. I was just playing the game.

I know. And this is just losing.

What I love the most with the Oscars, or any award ceremony, except the prizes, is the red carpet. It’s always magical to see all these wonderful outfits worn by the most beautiful women in the world. Obviously, that’s not the kind of dresses you can wear in real life (even for a wedding, it seems too much). But a girl’s allowed to dream, isn’t she? What about you, which ones would you pick?

Extraordinaire Jean Dujardin!

And he did it! Congratulations to Jean Dujardin on winning the Oscar for The Artist, BRAVO!

I still find it quite unbelievable that this actor won such a prize. I mean, he starred in Brice de Nice, which must be the most stupid movie ever (and believe me, I’ve seen a few). Try to imagine the worst Jim Carrey movie (like Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls) – Brice de Nice was actually even more stupid. I tried to watch it twice and never could stand it after 15 minutes. Jean’s TV show, Un Gars, Une Fille, was better, but I never really was hooked – mostly because Alexandra Lamy’s voice is really high-pitched and that’s something I can’t stand.

But I’m glad Jean won last night – The Artist seems to be a good film and after everything he’s won since May 2011, I would have been disappointed to see the Oscar go to somebody else. Although, I would have LOVED to see Gary Oldman win, because he seriously deserves such a prize. He’s an amazing actor and it’s a shame he never won.

I don’t know what to think about Meryl Streep winning. I love Meryl, believe me, I really do, but after what I heard about The Iron Lady, I don’t think she deserved to win last night. But her press room photocall with Jean was really sweet <3
